8 Arrested in Connection with South Georgia Deadly Mass Shooting; 2 Wanted
Authorities say 10 people have now been charged, and 44 victims were injured in the shooting that left two people dead.
On Thursday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy announced eight additional arrests in the October 4 Vienna, Georgia, mass shooting, bringing total charges to 10.
The shooting erupted during an unpermitted homecoming gathering of more than 1,000 people near West Palm and the Dooly County Recreation Department, killing two and wounding 28 others who were shot, plus 16 injured while fleeing.
Each defendant faces charges including felony murder, aggravated assault, and gang activity. Investigators recovered multiple automatic weapons—rifles and handguns—during searches across Crisp, Dooly, and Houston counties.
Authorities are actively searching for Brexton Esamuel Gaston and Vanravious Rashad Williams, who remain at large with outstanding warrants and are considered "armed and dangerous," Sheriff Peavy warned.
The investigation remains ongoing; anyone with information is urged to contact the GBI Perry Regional Investigative Office at 478-987-4545 or use the "See Something, Send Something" mobile app.
