Minnesota Department of Transportation Seeks Input on Bikeways
The plan updates MnDOT’s bike strategy to address e-bikes and other devices, and public feedback is open through Oct. 23.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation recently opened a public comment period for its draft Statewide Bicycle+ System Plan, which aligns policies to deliver active transportation improvements across Minnesota.
MnDOT last updated its System Plan in 2016, adding a '+' to include the emergence of e-bikes and other battery-powered transportation devices.
Bicycling and bike-like modes contribute to quality of life by connecting people to daily activities and strengthening local economies, MnDOT Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger said.
Following the public comment period, MnDOT will hold final meetings with project committees to present feedback and any proposed revisions to the System Plan.
Interested parties can view the plan and leave comments online before the public comment period closes on Oct. 23.
