A fire was declared on Sunday 26 July in Métairies-Saint-Quirin, near Niderhoff. A stork was said to be the source of an electric arc. Thanks to the rapid intervention of firefighters and farmers, the spread of fire, which destroyed seven hectares of dry grass, could be stopped. Firefighters remain on maximum alert due to the wind gusts currently blowing in the area.
