Garmin Powers Live Data for Oakley Meta Vanguard AI Glasses - Garmin (NYSE:GRMN)
The Oakley Meta Vanguard smart glasses offer athletes integration with Garmin and Strava apps, 3K video capture, and up to nine hours of battery life for enhanced performance.
On September 17, 2025, during the Meta Connect keynote, Meta introduced its new smart eyewear designed for athletes, which became available for preorder immediately, with shipments beginning October 21.
Meta developed the Vanguards as a next-generation product for serious athletes, supported by partners Garmin and Strava, following earlier Oakley HSTN models geared toward low-impact sports.
The glasses weigh 66 grams, feature a 12MP centered camera with 3K 30fps video and IP67 water resistance, and include a programmable action button optimized for helmet use.
Retailing at $499, the glasses deliver up to nine hours of mixed-use battery performance, with a charging case that adds an extra 36 hours and supports rapid charging to half capacity in just 20 minutes. They also feature Meta’s most powerful open-ear speakers to date.
Meta plans to launch the Oakley Meta Vanguard in several countries including the US and Italy, with the product promising enhanced athletic utility and a stronger health-focused ecosystem.
