Charles McAdoo Drives in Pair of Runs for Blue Jays in 4-1 Win over Yankees
Charles McAdoo drove in two runs as Toronto won its 29th comeback game and moved closer to the final American League wild-card spot.
On Aug 15, Charles McAdoo drove in two runs including a go-ahead double in the seventh inning as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Yankees 4-1 at Rogers Centre.
Before the game, the Blue Jays placed All-Star Vladimir Guerrero on the seven-day concussion injured list after he left Friday's win following a collision with George Lombard at third base.
Left-Hander Ricky Tiedemann made his major league debut while Spencer Miles picked up the win in relief and closer Louis Varland earned his 28th save striking out the side in the ninth.
The victory helped the Blue Jays improve to 61-64 in their late charge for a wild-card spot; Toronto has won 13 of their last 19 games.
Toronto will attempt to sweep the series on Sunday when Jays RHP Dylan Cease is scheduled to face Yankees LHP Ryan Weathers in the series finale.
