Feminist activists prosecuted by Christophe Girard: the court releases the six defendants

Anne Hidalgo's former cultural assistant was suing activists who had denounced the decision to keep him in his post in 2020, despite the revelation of his links with the writer Gabriel Matzneff, targeted by an investigation for the rape of a minor.

Christophe Girard, former deputy for culture to the mayor of Paris, announced that he would appeal this decision.

The Correctional Court of Paris acquitted six feminists, including Green Party councilor Alice Coffin, on Friday, May 17, in their defamation and public insult case brought by the former deputy for culture of Paris Mayor Christophe Girard, criticized for his links with writer Gabriel Matzneff.
