Marshall football: Del Rio-Wilson racks up awards after Herd win at MTSU

MURFREESBORO, TN — Marshall quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson came alive in a 42-28 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. The starter certified himself as the best option for the position after a fourth-quarter comeback. He finished 18 for 22 with 261 yards and four passing touchdowns. He added a score on the ground to finish with more all-purpose touchdowns (5) than incompletions.

The league announcement came on an accolade-laden day for Del Rio-Wilson, who also was named as one of the Manning Award's "Stars of the Week" and included on the Davey O'Brien Award's 'Great 8' for Week Four.
