SMYTH COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — A man convicted of first-degree murder after a woman was found burned in a Marion home has been sentenced to life in prison plus 90 years. According to Commonwealth's Attorney Phillip Blevins, Jason Whittaker, 40, was sentenced on Thursday. Whittaker was convicted in July after a multi-day trial.
