Mick Jagger Confirms: "There's Nothing Good" About Getting Older
Jagger said ageing limits his speed and physical ability, but he remains creatively active and has already started writing new songs.
Mick Jagger, 82, told The New York Times podcast The Interview that "There's nothing good about it" regarding aging, noting he has "forgotten" the wisdom he once dispensed over his decades-long career.
The Rolling Stones released their 25th album, Foreign Tongues, which became the band's 15th Number One, drawing them level with The Beatles on the all-time chart rankings.
Despite his thoughts on aging, Jagger told NME he remains creatively active and has already started writing new material, expressing hope the band will return to the stage in 2027.
Reflecting on six decades of fame, Jagger explained that his role is to ensure concert audiences escape their problems for two hours rather than receive political lectures.
Although physical tasks have become slower, Jagger continues to prioritize his creative work, balancing his perspective on mortality with ongoing contributions to the band's future.
