Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu does not want to wait for the presidential election to implement "structural reforms, even modest ones," in the next budget, which he hopes to have adopted "this winter." He considers the level of debt "worrying" and is "not very optimistic" about meeting the public deficit targets for 2026 and 2027.
