Larry Fitzgerald Entering Hall of Fame as Cardinals Icon After 17 Years of Pass-Catching Excellence
Fitzgerald enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame after 17 seasons, finishing with 17,492 receiving yards and 1,432 catches, both second in NFL history.
On Saturday, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, capping a stellar 17-year career with the franchise.
Standing 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds, Fitzgerald accumulated 17,492 receiving yards and 1,432 catches, ranking second in NFL history behind Jerry Rice while his 121 touchdowns place him sixth all-time.
During the 2008 postseason, he recorded 30 catches for 546 yards and seven touchdowns, an NFL record; the run culminated in a go-ahead touchdown in the Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill highlighted an extraordinary stat: Fitzgerald recorded 41 career tackles compared to 29 dropped passes despite playing with 22 different quarterbacks over 17 years.
After quietly ending his career following the 2020 season without a formal announcement, Fitzgerald's Hall of Fame induction this weekend cements his legacy as one of the greatest receivers in league history.
