The Director of the Greek Public Debt Management Organization (PDMA), Dimitris Tsakonas, had estimated on Friday that from this year onwards Athens would cease to have the highest debt in Europe.
The Greek government announced on Monday that it will repay earlier than foreseen part of the debt contracted by the European States during the 2010 financial crisis, under the conditions in which the authorities estimate a significant reduction in public debt in the coming years, Le Figaro says.
