A 36-year-old man was arrested today, Saturday, August 29, 2026, by investigators of the Kos Fire Department. The 36-year-old was carrying out welding work (hot work) near vegetation, in violation of the applicable fire protection legislation, while the fire risk in the area is in category 4, i.e. at a very high risk level. The immediate procedure was applied against him, while an administrative fine of 3,000 euros was also imposed on him.
