Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey appointed Giselle Byrd, a biological male who identifies as female, as a state commissioner to the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW). Byrd was subsequently elected by fellow commissioners to serve as the Vice Chair of the MCSW’s Programming and Planning Committee.
