iQIYI Launches China's First AI Film Studio in Shanghai, with Inaugural Title "Cop in Trouble" in Production
The studio combines live-action filming with AI post-production and uses nearly 30 models to help filmmakers refine environments after shooting.
On October 28, iQIYI opened its new AI Film Studio at the Creative Center Shanghai, launching the inaugural production of internet feature film "Cop in Trouble."
This approximately 110-square-meter facility integrates live-action filming with AI-powered post-production, allowing directors to adjust sets, lighting, and props flexibly while preserving actors' original performances.
Filmmakers gain access to nearly 30 AI models, including Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0, via the NadouPro platform, which syncs on-set footage to generate visual elements automatically.
"An actor's performance is the core of any film or series," said Liang ZHU, iQIYI Vice President and Head of Intelligent Production, as the film follows constable Jian ZHANG.
Building on the Hengdian virtual studio, which delivered production efficiency gains of over 30%, the expansion marks a transition toward AI-integrated filmmaking for resource-constrained teams and emerging directors.
