Several B.C. Rugby Players Included in Rugby Canada's Nations Cup Squad
The roster includes several British Columbia players and returning professionals as coach Stephen Meehan says the team will test itself against strong opposition.
- Rugby Canada selected 36 players for the senior men's team's final three 2026 Nations Cup matches in November, with head coach Stephen Meehan announcing the roster including France-based professionals.
- Meehan said the international window offers a vital chance to test the team against strong opposition while the squad remains fluid, evolving week to week due to professional and personal commitments.
- Courtenay's Foster DeWitt signed with Nottingham Rugby in October after playing in the Pacific Nations Cup earlier this year, joining other players who secured professional contracts following a landmark CHAMP Rugby deal.
- Canada will face Georgia on Nov. 7 in Tbilisi, followed by Hong Kong on Nov. 14 in France, and concludes against Romania on Nov. 20 at the Stadionul Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest.
- Building on the progress established during the Pacific Nations Cup, these matches provide a critical opportunity for the team to continue climbing the world rankings.
