In Minnesota's hospitals, adverse health events continue to decline, per MDH's latest report
Serious injuries and deaths rose even as hospitals reported 589 adverse health events, the Minnesota Department of Health said.

- Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester recorded 95 reportable events with 37 serious injuries and four deaths, while serious pressure ulcers comprised 43% of AHEs during the 12-month reporting period.
- Diane Rydrych, Minnesota Department of Health's Health Policy division director, said data "highlight that there are still a lot of opportunities to address the risks that can lead to patient harm."
- Falls caused the most serious injuries and deaths, prompting Olmsted Medical Center to conduct root cause analyses for all events as staff remain "continuously working to improve patient safety.
