Almost a month after the municipality decided to give up the show, invoking budgetary restrictions, the producer said he was prepared to incur costs. A final hearing will take place in Nîmes on Thursday 30 July.
Following the cancellation of the Queen Forever show by the mayor, Jean-Dominique Artaud (RN), an appeal was filed by the producer, examined this Monday, July 27 by the administrative court of Nîmes. The decision was postponed until Thursday, July 30 noon, the mayor having proposed to reach a friendly agreement.
Mayor RN d'Orange decided to cancel a free concert to be held on September 4 to commemorate the birth of Freddy Mercury, an iconic singer from the Queen group. Jean-Dominique Artaud used budget constraints while the city had 11 million euros in budget surpluses.
