The Central Bank unveiled the Bank Surplus Accounts Management System (Hosam), which allows for offline viewing and assignment of accounts and management of required and surplus accounts.
The goal is to reduce the number of approximately 650 million bank accounts in the country to approximately 300 million accounts within a two-year period, and this will be done gradually.
At the unveiling ceremony of the Hesam system, the Central Bank Governor said: "We are moving seriously and decisively towards greater financial discipline and financial transparency in transactions, accounts, and banking operations."
Referring to the launch of the Excess Accounts Management System (Hosam), the Governor of the Central Bank said: "The goal is to reduce the number of approximately 650 million bank accounts in the country to approximately 300 million accounts within a two-year period, and this action will be carried out gradually."
