He-Man Fans Have a New Reason to Return to Eternia as Pre-Orders Open
The retro-style 2D beat 'em up includes a $99.99 Collector's Edition and two-player local co-op as it heads to digital and physical release.
- Developer Bitmap Bureau and publisher Limited Run Games announced He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will launch on February 4, 2027, across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam.
- Inspired by the 1980s animated series, the retro-style beat 'em up features detailed pixel art across 13 stages, including the Royal Palace and Snake Mountain. Players control He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and She-Ra to fight Skeletor's forces alone or in two-player local co-op.
- Limited Run Games opened pre-orders for the Standard Edition and the Collector's Edition, with the latter including a collector's box, steel case, character pin badges, a Power Sword replica, an acrylic standee of He-Man riding Battle Cat, and a comic from Dark Horse Comics.
- Bitmap Bureau, known for its work on the Terminator franchise, developed the title in collaboration with Mattel and Clear River Games. Early pre-orders of the Collector's Edition grant fans a bonus Masters of the Universe Origins He-Man action figure while supplies last.
- This game release follows the recent live-action Masters of the Universe movie, which grossed $114 million on a budget up to $200 million. The franchise continues expanding through various media, including the animated series on Netflix.
