Elections for the Palestinian Legislative Council are set to go ahead on November 28, the first in 20 years after Hamas won in January 2006. Hamas won 74 of the seats, with Fatah following behind.
"Hamas will participate in the elections within the broadest possible national coalition," said the head of Hamas' National Relations Office, Husam Badran, in an interview with Al Aqsa television network.
Hamas Political Bureau member Hussam Badran said his group will participate in the upcoming Palestinian elections under the auspices of the broadest possible national coalition. He rejected any attempt to impose political conditions on candidates.
