The news of the death of Bosnian music legend Halid Bešlić has been met with reactions from the region. "Thank you for your emotions and humanity," wrote members of the band Parni Valjak. Many others also paid tribute to him with emotional notes. Radio host Denis Avdič wrote: "We are left with songs and memories ... and they will remain with us for a long time."
Halid Bešlić died today at the Sarajevo Medical Center at the age of 72 after a battle with a serious illness, Sarajevo media reported. The Bosnian-Herzegovinian folk singer left behind numerous hits and an indelible mark on the music scene in his more than 40-year career.
