Gypsy Rose Blanchard starts petition for 'Kenan's Law,' targeting online harassment
On Sunday, Gypsy Rose Blanchard launched a Change.org petition for "Kenan's Law," the Online Harassment Reporting and Accountability Act, to combat cyberbullying following ex-fiancé Ken Urker's death.
Urker was found dead at his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday Thursday, October 1, with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office investigating after discovering a handgun and "brown powdery substance" at the scene.
Blanchard alleged Urker suffered "merciless cyberbullying" before his death, citing a "distressed" final phone conversation on Monday, September 28, regarding harassment from his sister, Autumn Urker.
Seeking "stronger protections and accountability," the proposal urges social media companies to preserve evidence and allow users to report harassment campaigns collectively, garnering more than 900 signatures.
Blanchard stated her priority is grieving and honoring Urker's memory while remaining in communication with his family to support their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.
