Over One-Fifth of Russian LNG Exports Protected by EU's Greek Sanctions Exemption

The compromise lets EU ships keep carrying Russian LNG to non-EU buyers under pre-2022 contracts, with one Greek operator handling 96% of the trade last year.

The Greek shipping company Dynagas accounted for 35% of all LNG shipped to the EU from Russia's Arctic Yamal terminal, according to the NGO Urgewald.
