Report: Rockstar Plans to Release GTA VI on PC in Early 2027
Sources say Rockstar plans a PC version after the console launch, with four industry sources citing a first-quarter 2027 target.
GamesBeat reported that Rockstar plans to release GTA6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, citing four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans who requested anonymity.
While Rockstar has only announced the console version for PS5 and Xbox Series on November 19, 2026, historically the previous Grand Theft Auto took nearly two years to reach PC, and Red Dead Redemption arrived over a year later.
Rockstar has not publicly confirmed the Q1 2027 release date; "A Rockstar Games representative did not respond to a request for comment prior to the publication of this article." All four sources requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships.
The reported timeline offers PC players hope for a faster turnaround than previous titles, potentially waiting only two to four months after the console launch. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy previously noted 2027 will bring "an even bigger" bump when GTA Online launches.
Amid the buildup to GTA6's release, Rockstar Games and the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain are engaged in a tribunal hearing over the firing of 31 Rockstar North employees from a year ago.
