Glasgow driver 'rammed on motorway' by three men with weapons in 'targeted attack'

Police say the attack was targeted, and officers are tracing a dark blue Renault Clio and three armed men.

  • On Saturday, June 13, three men in a dark blue Renault Clio carried out a "targeted attack" on a silver Nissan Micra on the M74 off-slip at Polmadie Road in Glasgow around 12.10am.
  • The Clio "deliberately struck" the Micra, forcing it off the road, after which three armed men exited to damage the vehicle before the driver fled.
  • Following the initial confrontation, the Clio pursued the Micra along Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, where further "deliberate" collisions occurred between the two vehicles.
  • Police Scotland reported no injuries from the incident, and Detective Inspector Stephen Greenshields is appealing for witnesses and dash-cam or CCTV footage to assist investigations.
  • Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0032 of June 13, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
