In an effort to "save Fort Boyard", the Charente-Maritime launches a public consultation prior to work estimated at €44 million

“The studies (...) conclude that Fort Boyard will inevitably be ruined if structures intended to ensure its protection from currents and waves are not built”, the department warned on Friday. At the end of the work, scheduled until 2028, the building, which is the setting for the television program of the same name, should become “accessible” to the public.
