Ex-Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back Le'Veon Bell Arrested in Canton for Unpaid Child Support
Police said Bell was held on a Michigan child-support warrant and booked into Stark County Jail after an autograph-signing appearance.
On Saturday, former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell was arrested at a mall in Canton, Ohio, on a Michigan child support warrant.
Bell's attorney, Thomas Shaffer, claimed the child support charge is "inaccurately" based on past NFL and boxing income, noting his client cashed in a pension to pay $50,000.
During his five-year tenure in Pittsburgh, Bell earned three Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro honors, retiring with 9,843 yards from scrimmage and 51 touchdowns.
Currently, the 34-year-old remains in custody at the Stark County Jail on a "courtesy hold for another agency" while awaiting Michigan warrant processing.
Bell is not the only former Steelers player to face off-field issues since his playing days; former teammate Antonio Brown has also encountered various headlines.
