Former NFL star, CBS anchor Irv Cross had brain disease CTE
Irv Cross, 81, suffered from stage 4 chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Stage 4 is the most advanced stage of CTE. Cross was the first Black man to work full-time as a sports analyst on national television. Cross and his family made the decision to donate his brain to raise awareness of the long-term consequences of repeated blows to the head.
