Following the devastating floods that struck Nepal, authorities are accelerating the identification of victims. Faced with a large number of unidentified bodies, DNA samples are being taken from the remains and from relatives of missing persons to facilitate their identification.
Arrangements have been made to conduct DNA tests at forensic science laboratories to identify those missing in the Nepal floods.
In order to identify those who went missing in the Nepal floods, the Tamil Nadu government has arranged for DNA testing through forensic science laboratories in Chennai, Madurai and Thanjavur zones.
