Five people including two boys appear in court charged with murder after petrol station crash in County Durham
Five people, including four teenagers, were charged with murder and violent disorder after Daniel Ambler died at a petrol station collision, police said.
- On Thursday, January 15, Daniel Ambler, 23, was struck by a car and pronounced dead at the Esso New Seaham Service Station, Stockton Road, Seaham, at about 4.50pm.
- Durham Constabulary launched a murder investigation and charged five people with murder and violent disorder in connection with the Seaham petrol station incident on Thursday.
- Named defendants include Barry Anderson, 51, Ashton Anderson, 19, and Barry Logan Anderson, 18, and two unnamed boys, 17, who all appeared via video link at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday.
- Judge Francis Laird KC remanded all five defendants in custody after their appearance at Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on Monday and extended an order protecting the two boys' identities.
- Floral tributes were left outside the taped-off service station as Mr Ambler's family called him `a much-loved son and brother` who `will leave a huge hole in our hearts forever` and `a kind-hearted soul`.
