FromSoftware Delays The Duskbloods Switch 2 Game to 2027
FromSoftware and Nintendo are still tuning the PvPvE game after August’s closed network test, and no firm release window has been set.
FromSoftware announced Thursday that The Duskbloods, its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, is delayed from 2026 to 2027 for final adjustments to game rules and balance.
Following the network test held in August, the studio decided to move the launch after evaluating user feedback. FromSoftware aims to enhance 'rules and balance' to realize enjoyable combat and diverse strategies at a higher level.
The Duskbloods is a multiplayer PvPvE experience where Bloodsworn characters fight for Virtue points in match-based combat. It marks FromSoftware's first new game since Elden Ring Nightreign, departing from typical challenging action toward strategic objectives.
Community members largely expected the delay, citing the crowded end of 2026 dominated by Grand Theft Auto. Fans had expressed uncertainty about the release window after months of silence from Nintendo and FromSoftware.
Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki hopes the design leads to 'unexpected drama.' By allocating this period for final adjustments, the developer intends to deliver an even better gaming experience for the Switch title.
