First Picture of West Lothian Man Who Died in Serious Crash as Family 'Heartbroken'
McCollum’s family described him as a loving husband, father and grandfather as police renewed their appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
On Sunday, October 25, Jim McCollum, 84, and Arran Callander, 20, died in a three-vehicle crash on the B708 Lower Bathville Road in Bathgate during Storm Boelo.
The collision involved a white BMW, a blue Citroen Saxo, and a blue Peugeot 208, with McCollum driving the Peugeot and Callander driving the BMW.
A 19-year-old passenger from the BMW was taken to hospital for treatment, while the Citroen's occupants—a 20-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman—were assessed by paramedics at the scene.
McCollum's family described him as a "gentle and loving" husband, father, and grandfather, while Callander's sister Angela and Amelie Johansen paid tributes calling him "one of a kind."
Sergeant Dave Waddell of the Road Policing Unit appealed for witnesses or dashcam footage, asking anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1770.
