The election day on Sunday, April 12, was marked by an unprecedented fact: 63,300 citizens of South Lima were unable to exercise their right to vote because the electoral material never reached 15 polling stations in the districts of San Juan de Miraflores, Lurín and Pachacámac. In total, 211 polling stations were not installed because of direct responsibility of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).
The head of the ONPE, Piero Corvetto, informs that the electoral material for these 2026 elections was not delivered to 15 polling stations in Lima, which prevented more than 63,000 voters from being able to pay, a key figure that would have defined the final result.
According to the above, the electoral material did not reach 15 polling stations in Lima, located in San Juan de Miraflores, Lurín and Pachacamac, which prevented the installation of 211 polling stations and affected 63,300 voters. Corvetto also announced that sanctions will not be applied to those affected.
