- On Tuesday, the Edmonton Elks hired Rick Campbell as a coaching analyst, marking his return to the organization where he launched his CFL career.
- Campbell previously served as Edmonton's defensive backs and special-teams coordinator from 1999 to 2008, winning two Grey Cup championship titles with the organization.
- The 55-year-old also served as head coach for the Ottawa Redblacks and the B.C. Lions, capturing a third Grey Cup title with Ottawa in 2016.
- His father, Hugh Campbell, a former head coach and CEO, guided Edmonton to five consecutive Grey Cup titles from 1978 to 1982, establishing a notable family legacy.
- Having served as the Redblacks' special-teams coordinator last season, Campbell brings recent CFL experience to the Elks' coaching staff.
