Drinking water in nine Geneva municipalities undrinkable after pipe burst

Drinking water in the communities was contaminated during the night to Sunday after a pipe burst.

A pipe failed during the night from Saturday to Sunday on Quai Gustave-Ador. It caused possible pollution on a large part of the left bank, from Vandoeuvres to Hermance.

Tap water is unfit for consumption for 27,000 inhabitants of nine Geneva municipalities on the left bank — Thônex, Choulex, Corsier, Vandoeuvres, Collonge-Bellerive, Hermance, Hermance, Hermance, Anières, Anières, Puplinge and Cologny — due to the rupture of a water pipe.
