- Republican State Rep. Todd Warner, who previously sponsored a failed bill to rename the airport for President Donald Trump, said he plans to introduce legislation supporting Parton's renaming in the coming weeks.
- Nashville Metro Councilmember Russ Bradford is sponsoring a resolution supporting the renaming, though state law passed this year gives The General Assembly power over municipal airports, which Nashville leaders have challenged.
- With The General Assembly not convening until January, fans have also proposed placing a statue of Parton on State Capitol grounds as an alternative way to honor the late musician.
