A 28-year-old man abused his dog on a public street in Vienna's Donaustadt district on Friday evening. The intoxicated man repeatedly punched and kicked the American Staffordshire Terrier near the Donauspital subway station at around 8:30 p.m. A passerby then called the emergency services, the state police headquarters reported on Saturday. When the man attempted to flee and knocked down a police officer in the process, he was arrested.
