Disciplinary sentence in Chovanec case overturned because of “minister Verlinden's partiality”

In the case involving the death of Jozef Chovanec, the Council of State has overturned the disciplinary sentence against Chief Commissioner Danny E., the former head of the aviation police. The Council found that Minister Annelies Verlinden (CD&V), who was supposed to assess the policeman, had spoken out about him in parliament in a biased manner.
