Nepal’s Devastating Floods Reveal the Danger of ‘Cascading Hazards’ in Himalayas

- The journalist reported devastating personal losses, as his aunt, cousin Madhu, and his wife were swept away, while Sijan and his wife remain unaccounted for.
- While Sole and Tupche sit nearly 100 meters above the riverbed, survivors face dire conditions, with a boy and another man suffering from broken legs and injuries.
- Traveling toward the district headquarters on the evening of August 26, the journalist witnessed the entire district swallowed by darkness with no road, electricity, phone signal, or internet access.
