DCA ranked least reliable airport in U.S. in 2026: Report
ConsumerAffairs said DCA led large U.S. airports in cancellations at 2.8% and had more last-flight cancellations than any other major airport.
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport ranked as the least reliable major airport in the country, according to a ConsumerAffairs report released this year.
The ConsumerAffairs report utilized Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Transportation data to evaluate cancellation, diversion, and delay rates across major U.S. airports.
DCA leads the nation with a 2.8% cancellation rate and cancels its final daily flight more frequently than any other large airport in the country.
Nearly half of DCA's delays are caused by flights arriving late, exceeding the delay-attribution rate at any of the five worst-performing major airports.
Western U.S. hubs dominate the top 10 most reliable airports, while the Northeast hosts many of the lowest-ranked facilities, with Los Angeles International leading in same-day recovery options.
