Region moves to study data centre impacts, concerns

Regional staff will put together a report on the impacts data centre development can have on the local economy and environment.

Regional staff will be looking into the implications data centres have on the local economy, infrastructure and the environment and provide an overview in early 2027. Coun. Colleen James tabled a motion asking for staff to create a report to help officials "learn as much as possible" about the issue to make informed decisions.
