Oregon QB Dante Moore Officially Out for Game Against Nebraska, Dylan Raiola Next in Line
Dylan Raiola is expected to start after Dante Moore was ruled out with a concussion, and Oregon is still deciding between two other quarterbacks.
On Wednesday, Oregon ruled starting quarterback Dante Moore out for Saturday's game against Nebraska, according to the Big Ten availability report. Moore will miss his second consecutive game while recovering from a concussion sustained on Sept. 29 against USC.
Head coach Dan Lanning continues to prioritize Moore's long-term health following the concussion he suffered against USC. Although Moore returned to practice this week, Lanning said his status remains uncertain as the team evaluates his readiness.
Following Raiola's struggles in last week's 17-15 loss to UCLA, backup Brock Thomas completed 11 of 15 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown. Raiola had completed just six of 19 passes for 43 yards with two interceptions before being benched.
With no starter named for Saturday's game, Lanning has had Raiola, Thomas, and freshman Akili Smith Jr. receive practice repetitions this week. The quarterback competition remains open ahead of the 8 p.m. kickoff at Autzen Stadium.
The Ducks face additional roster challenges, with wide receiver Evan Stewart listed as questionable for Saturday. Safety Aaron Flowers and receiver Jeremiah McClellan are ruled out, further depleting the lineup for the Nebraska matchup.
