Czech zoologists and local conservationists caught turtle poachers in Indonesia

Czech field zoologists from the zoos in Liberec and Ostrava claimed success in the fight against the illegal trade in sea turtles in Sumatra. Together with their Indonesian colleagues, they caught and jailed two poachers of these rare reptiles. For the six poached turtles, the hunters were sentenced to two and a half years in prison and fined 70 million Indonesian rupiah, which is roughly one hundred thousand crowns.
