'Rot! Burn!' Outbursts in Court as Pedophile Extradited
The former childcare worker will face 202 more child-sex charges after Queensland approved his transfer, with NSW authorities saying victims deserve their day in court.
On Tuesday, the Brisbane Magistrates Court approved the extradition of former childcare worker Ashley Paul Griffith from Queensland to New South Wales to face more than 200 additional child sexual offences.
Griffith is currently serving a life sentence in Queensland with a non-parole period of 27 years after pleading guilty in 2024 to more than 300 offences committed against 69 girls over two decades.
During the hearing, a victim supporter yelled "get f***ed Ashley" and "disgusting piece of feral flesh" as Magistrate Belinda Merrin granted the application, which was not opposed by the defence.
He will now be transferred to face 180 charges relating to children in Sydney, allegedly committed between 2014 and 2017, following coordination between New South Wales Attorney-General Michael Daley and Queensland Attorney-General Deb Frecklington.
Police investigations in 2022 led to the discovery of more than 4000 child abuse images and videos at his Gold Coast home, revealing the scale of his long-term offending across Australia.
