Conservative groups to rally Tuesday for DOJ election monitors at St. Cloud-area polls
Speakers will urge the U.S. Department of Justice to send Civil Rights Division monitors to St. Cloud-area polls amid concerns over 2024 voting issues.
Conservative voting groups will hold a "Protect the Polls Community Action" event on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Elk River, Minnesota, to encourage the Department of Justice to deploy federal election monitors at Cloud area polling places.
Matt Benda and other organizers plan to discuss "problems surrounding voting in the greater Cloud area during the 2024 election" and past efforts to "strengthen security" at Sherburne County polling places.
An America First Policy document argues the Department of Justice can deploy Civil Rights Division staff monitors without court pre-approval, using "disability access decrees, consent orders, and federal supremacy" to push back on "overbroad" state challenges.
Speakers will call on officials in Sherburne, Benton, and Stearns counties to accept these monitors, an effort occurring about a week after the Department of Justice announced charges against 10 people in Minnesota for allegedly committing voter fraud.
The Heritage Foundation identified about 100 cases of voter fraud—roughly 0.000008% of 1.3 billion votes—as President Donald Trump and his allies have alleged widespread fraud, while the America First Policy Institute continues receiving funding from the Trump-controlled Save America PAC.
