36 Countries Confirmed to Compete in Eurovision 2027

Canada will join the lineup as Ireland and the Netherlands skip again, while Spain, Slovenia and Iceland remain undecided, the EBU said.

  • Canada will make its Eurovision Song Contest debut at the 71st contest in Burgas, Bulgaria, the European Broadcasting Union announced on Wednesday. Organizers confirmed 36 countries will participate in May 2027, one more than in 2026.
  • Ireland and the Netherlands confirmed they will again skip the 2027 event due to Israel's participation. This follows their previous boycott of this year's contest over Israel's military offensive in Gaza.
  • The contest returns to Arena Burgas for the 71st edition, with semi-finals on 11 and 13 May and the Grand Final on 15 May. North Macedonia also returns for the first time since 2022.
  • Eurovision director Martin Green stated, "In a world that can feel increasingly divided, it brings audiences together through music, across borders, languages, and cultures, and that matters now more than ever." The lineup includes France, Britain, Ukraine, and Australia.
  • Spain, Slovenia, and Iceland have yet to finalize their status for the 2027 contest. RTVE in Spain and RTVSLO in Slovenia have until December to confirm, while Iceland's public broadcaster remains undecided.
