Suspect in Suspicious ATM Activity Tosses $6,000 Out Truck Window During Police Pursuit
Police recovered more than $6,000 after a pursuit ended with a high-risk stop and arrests, Pearland police said.
- On Sept. 16, Pearland Police Department officers arrested two Florida men in Pearland, Texas, after responding to reports of a masked individual performing multiple ATM transactions with several cards.
- Officers located the suspects' GMC Sierra on Smith Ranch Road, initiating a vehicle pursuit during which the driver discarded more than $6,000 in cash.
- The GMC Sierra traveled along McHard Road before stopping in the 1600 block of Max Road, where police conducted a high-risk traffic stop without further incident.
- Driver Levon Steven was charged with evading arrest and tampering with evidence, while passenger Tarvares Givens of West Park, Florida, was charged with failure to identify.
- Both men remain in custody at Brazoria County Jail as detectives investigate for additional fraud-related charges stemming from the ATM transactions.
