Early homers from Leody Taveras and Pete Alonso powered Baltimore to a 7-0 lead, but the Cardinals fought back, scoring six runs in the fifth inning to tie the game at 7-7.
Cardinals starter Michael McGreevy surrendered 10 hits over five innings, while Orioles pitcher Kyle Bradish allowed nine hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings before departing.
Andrew Kittredge secured the save in the ninth, helping the 65-68 Orioles remain within 2 1/2 games of the Cleveland Guardians in the American League wild-card race while sending St. Louis to its fifth straight loss.
