“By blocking Moldova, no one is helping Ukraine,” President Maia Sandu says, as both countries wait to open their two EU negotiation clusters
Moldova’s president stops short of splitting her EU bid from Ukraine’s, but says she answers for her own country’s progress.
President Maia Sandu says that Ukraine's support is essential not only for defending Ukraine's sovereignty, but also for maintaining peace and security in the region. The head of state said in an interview with the Hungarian press that blocking the country's European course would not help Ukraine, and if Russia's aggression is not stopped, the threat will also spread to other states, including the Republic of Moldova, broadcast Radio Chisinau.
President Maia Sandu said, in an interview with the Hungarian publication Valasz Online, that the Republic of Moldova must advance towards the European Union at its own pace and that blocking its European course would not help Ukraine.
President Maya Sandou stated that Moldova should move towards European integration at its own pace, and artificial braking of the process would not be of benefit to neighbouring Ukraine, which was described by the Head of State in an interview with the Hungarian publication Válasz Online.
